POLISH RESIDENCE PERMIT
Temporary residence card (karta czasowego pobytu)
A residence card, also known as “Karta pobytu,” is a residence permit in Poland. This card looks similar to an internal passport of a European Union citizen, with personal biometric data of the holder, such as fingerprints, height, eye color and parents’ names. In addition, the card contains a PESEL number. This official document helps you move around more easily and ensures your legal presence in Poland.
Permanent resident card (karta stałego pobytu)
A Polish permanent resident card is a document entitling you to permanent residence and work in Poland. After receiving a positive decision on granting the residency status, you will receive a plastic card that needs to be renewed every 10 years.
EU long-term resident card (карта rezydenta UE)
A long-term EU resident’s residence permit in Poland opens the door to permanent residence in this country. This permit is granted for an indefinite period, and its holder receives a special card that is valid for 5 years. This means that every five years you need to renew the card as part of the reissue procedure, but you can do it without having to re-apply and go through the permit procedure.
